ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number and is a 13-digit number that identifies published books. Once assigned to a book, an ISBN can never be reused. An ISBN is used as an identifier by publishers, booksellers, libraries, internet retailers and other supply chain participants for ordering, listing, sales records and stock control purposes. The ISBN identifies the registrant as well as the specific title, edition (new or revised edition) and format (hard cover, soft cover or digital/electronic book).
An different/new ISBN number is also required when:
there are different book formats published for a book, i.e. a hard cover book, a soft cover book and a digital/electronic book.
the published book is revised/updated.
A barcode is the graphical representations of a book’s ISBN and price. Barcodes are used on physical books, allowing them to be machine read, and facilitating automated sales and inventory tracking. It is a requirement for retailers.
Once you have registered for an ISBN Number and/or Barcode, you will receive them within 24-48 working hours.
The “QR” in the QR Barcode stands for “Quick Response”. It is a matrix barcode that can be read and scanned with compatible devices such as a smartphone camera or an app.
With a QR barcode, you can link to an email address, a whatsapp number, a website, an online store, social media profiles/pages, and files such as photos, videos, music, official documents, and more.
A different/new QR Barcode is required when you want to link to more than just one destination.
Once you have registered for an QR Barcode, you will receive it within 24-48 working hours.
